When did you first realise you were Psychic? I think I've always been intuitive, because as a child I was sensitive to peoples energy and emotions. Although it wasn't until I was 28, when I suffered a sudden major loss in my life that everything changed. I don't know if you're familiar with the phrase 'When the pupil is ready, the teacher will appear' well that's exactly what happened. Six weeks before the event I'd started to have dreams and visions, then the teachers surely did show up, in the form of clients at the hairdressing salon I owned at the time. One client suddenly decided I needed to see a healer, then another insisted I go with her to the local spiritualist church, then another revealed to me she was a medium and I'd be doing what she's doing. In hindsight it was as if I was being prepared. After my major loss the Psychic floodgates opened in the form of dreams, visions and knowing when things were going to happen. It was like a Psychic TV screen had been switched on in my head and I could see peoples lives play out in front of me. From that point onwards I could also see spirit, it was a lot more crowded in that salon then people realised. My clients had no idea they were bringing spirit visitors with them, on top of that they wanted a chat. If I'd charged for spirit heads as well as human heads, I'd have made a fortune, but seriously, at this point I didn't have the confidence to say or do anything. What gave you the confidence? I started to experiment on friends and family, almost for fun. If I'd taken it too seriously I'd have freaked out, to this day I can't even watch a horror film. The reaction and feedback I got from people about what I saw and felt, shocked me as well as them, it was unbelievably accurate. So what did you do about it? Well it all took over a bit too much. On a Psychic level I think I experienced just about everything there was to experience. I found it all a bit overwhelming, so I went on a journey of discovery, to try to work out the science of how and why I could do what I was doing. At this point I turned more towards learning about and practising different therapies and healing. The mind became a fascination for me. I read everything I could get my hands on from Freud to Quantum Physics. Then I tried to run away from it all, in hindsight I think I was trying to run away from the stigma that quite often surrounds Psychics, which to a certain extent I understand, I didn't want to be perceived as a mad woman and I don't really look like a hippy. I feel it's very important to be very grounded if you're highly Psychic. Do you think you were destined to be a Psychic? Good question. A few years ago I had my birth chart looked at by an Astrologer and found out not only was I was a Piscean but I also have five planets in water. Which I am told makes for a highly natural Psychic individual. It was also predicted to me at a very young age by a Psychic, he told me I'd be doing what he was doing. I remember thinking you're not very good, I want be a vet. That's quite ironic, considering what you do now... Yeah I know, because every time I rebel and run away, I'm pulled back to my Psychic path by a strange change of events, which Is how I started working professionally. I began working for a very well known psychic agency and within a couple of months I was the most requested reader out of about 60 Psychics. I then decided to practice full-time on my own as a professional Psychic and haven't looked back since. All my clients up till now solely come to me by word of mouth. Their positive feedback is why I do what I do and I have now accepted it. Who is your client base? Let's just say I talk to people from all walks of life and lots of different countries. Anyone famous? Yes, but you can't ask me who they are, it's confidential. And finally, do you predict the bad stuff? I always try to be as open and honest as possible. I'm a realist and I don't like to sugar coat my readings. If I see things are going to a bit rocky for a while I will tell my client, however even if I do see it, I never predict really bad things, unless they 'can' be avoided. So what's in the future for Katelyn? Well, at the moment, it's a secret but I can tell you, that I'm currently working on a book about my life.

SPIRITUAL HEALING AT PARTNERS - Partners in House of Fraser has come over all NYC on us by introducing a psychic/intuitive therapist into the salon.
So Living Edge went down to find out a little bit more and to meet the practitioner Katelyn Harvey, who for the past eight years has been using her powers to help people unravel their life's problems. Not being the sort of person who is remotely interested in such things I have to admit coming away from my 40 minute session feeling the most amazing sense of being in control of my life and problems. Yes, really! Katelyn takes a pack of cards to enable her to focus then uses her insight to empower her clients and help them to take charge of their life. It's not exactly a psychic session and not quite life coaching - although she does offer life coaching as a follow-up - but in spite of being a bit cynical about all this I really do have to admit it totally changed my attitude to everything. It truly made me feel more positive and genuinely give me a new perspective on my concerns. So there. Not cheap at about £90 a session but in my opinion definitely worth splashing out...because you're worth it!
